Minor in Music

The Music department also offers a Minor in Music, requiring 21 units in the music department. The music minor is designed to lay the groundwork for a lifelong enjoyment and appreciation of music. No audition required.

To declare a Minor in Music:

  1. Look at the Minor in Music requirements in the Bulletin (Course Catalog).
  2. Use the Bulletin, together with the Course Listing, to come up with a projected path showing what classes you intend to take each semester in order to complete the minor (NOTE: Theory & Ear Training Core classes are restricted enrollment, and admission to minors is subject to availability.)
  3. Once you've made up a list of what you'd like to take, schedule an advising appointment with Dean Suzuki or Dee Spencer.

Please bring the Declaration of Minor [PDF] form with you to your advising appointment.
