Can I transfer music units from other schools?

Generally speaking, no.

All incoming music majors, including transfers, must take Placement Exams in Theory, Ear Training, and piano skills. Many students 'pass out' of a number of requirements based on these exams, but you cannot have a requirement waived without them.

Students transferring in from music conservatories may petition to have history classes transferred from their previous school. If you wish to submit such a petition, please schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzuki, docdeano@comcast.net, to evaluate your previous coursework. You should bring to this meeting your transcript, the course syllabus for the class in which you want to receive credit, and any papers or tests that you have.
